Experienced, Energic & Engaging. Paula Wright Makes C&C Her New Home

C&C Insurance Brokers has welcomed Paula Wright to the business as Senior New Business Co-ordinator, and after just a few weeks, she’s already making an impression across the company.

With more than two and a half decades of experience spanning employee benefits, PMI and general insurance, Paula brings a huge amount of industry knowledge, relationship-building expertise and plenty of personality to the role. Like many people in insurance, Paula admits she fell into the industry rather than courting it from an early age! “I started in a part-time receptionist role when my children were young,” she explains. “Then I discovered appointment making and business development and realised I absolutely loved speaking to people. From there, it just grew.”

That early curiosity quickly turned into a successful long-term career. Paula spent around 15 years with PMI Health Group before moving into wider commercial insurance roles, building extensive experience across both healthcare and general insurance sectors. “I’m a bit of everything,” she laughs. “A Swiss Army Knife, rather than a specialist in one area.” That multi-tool experience is already proving valuable at C&C, where Paula has quickly immersed herself across multiple teams and sectors.

One of the biggest attractions for Paula was C&C’s reputation and culture – something she says immediately stood out when she met Managing Director, Malcolm Cooke and the wider team. “I’d heard about C&C for years,” she says. “But what’s really struck me since joining is how genuinely positive the culture is. Everybody wants each other to succeed, and you can really feel that.” She adds: “So many people told me what a great place it was to work, and I kept thinking, surely somebody somewhere must have something negative to say! But honestly, everyone’s been brilliant. I wanted my next move to be my forever home, and I feel I’ve found it at C&C!”

Now working closely with C&C Commercial Director, Hiek Sarkissian and supporting wider business development activity across the group, Paula says her immediate focus is simple: creating opportunities, building relationships and helping convert appointments into long-term clients. She’s already been out representing C&C at networking events and industry functions, something she clearly enjoys. “You can’t beat meeting people face-to-face,” she says. “Even if the timing isn’t right immediately, it’s the start of a relationship.”

And judging by recent feedback from colleagues, Paula’s networking approach may already have become legendary internally. Apparently, she worked an awards room with our Property Division like she was on steroids! “We were the dream team,” she laughs. “I covered so much ground meeting people, that eventually, I had to take my shoes off!”

Outside of work, Paula’s life remains just as busy. She has three children, three grandchildren and spends much of her free time in Abersoch, where the family has a caravan close to the coast. “We absolutely love it there,” she says. “As soon as the weather improves even a bit, everybody heads to the beach.”

Being such a people-person, Paula also volunteers at Changing Lives Together – a charity that reduces food waste. She works in the community shop, where for a small donation, shoppers can buy food that the large supermarkets would normally bin. Not only does this help reduce landfill, it also helps struggling families make their money go further.

She’s also had a slightly unexpected brush with television fame after successfully challenging her council tax banding – a story that eventually landed her on The Martin Lewis Money Show alongside her neighbours.

Music plays a big part in Paula’s life, too. A lifelong Wham! fan, she still vividly remembers attending her first ever George & Andrew gig in Leeds in 1984. She even has a YouTube clip featuring Harry Styles telling her he loves her after accompanying her daughter to meet the One Direction star.

As for what success looks like over the next few months at C&C? “When all the people we’re meeting at events remember us for the right reasons!” she says. “And when the appointments I’m creating start converting into wins,”

Malc says, “I knew from my first meeting with Paula that she was right for us. She’s a powerhouse of energy and intent and knows her way around insurance like the best. She’s also so comfortable talking with people and very easy to get along with – the perfect blend for a Senior New Business Co-ordinator! We’re already seeing great things and are delighted to have her join the C&C family.”

With her experience, energy and people-first approach, Paula already feels right at home at C&C, and it’s safe to say the business feels exactly the same way as Harry about having her on board!
