Thunder Crowned Champions For Fifth Time!

C&C sponsored Manchester Thunder are Netball Super League Champions once again after producing a sensational 54-51 victory over London Pulse in a gripping Grand Final at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.

In front of a packed crowd and a national television audience watching live on Sky Sports, Thunder held their nerve in a tense, high-quality contest to secure a record-equalling fifth Super League title and cap off a remarkable season in style.

Having already defeated Pulse 60-56 in the Major Semi-Final to book their place in the final, Thunder knew they would once again face one of the league’s strongest sides. The reigning champions responded exactly as expected, pushing Karen Greig’s team all the way in a final that was in the balance until the closing moments.

Ultimately, it was Thunder who found an extra gear when it mattered most. Driven on by a passionate home crowd, the Black and Yellows showed the composure, resilience and belief that have become synonymous with the club over many years of success. Australian shooter Sophie Fawns was deservedly named Player of the Match after an outstanding performance, helping to steer Thunder over the line and write her name into club folklore in her first season in England.
