C&C Scotland has welcomed a fresh addition to its team with the arrival of Karis Fraser as a Business Development Executive. Joining from NFU, Karis brings a strong operational background.
With her previous role being more operational than client-facing, she’s no stranger to problem-solving and teamwork. However, she was eager for more professional development opportunities – something she believes her new position at C&C Scotland offers in abundance. “I’m a resilient creature!” Karis says, with characteristic enthusiasm. “I was ready for a new challenge and the opportunity to grow. Everyone here has been so welcoming; the company has a real family feel. So, despite what I know will be a steep learning curve, I already feel at home and can’t wait to build on these early few weeks.”
Eager to hit the ground running, Karis has set her sights on expanding business opportunities across the region, targeting a variety of client and policy types whilst also becoming acquainted with our existing, long-standing clients. Embracing the prospect of mastering new systems and products, she views every challenge as an opportunity.
Her networking ambitions are equally impressive. Karis is looking to explore relationships with Annan Athletic and their commercial partners, along with the 100+ businesses on The Crichton Estate, where C&C Scotland is based. New connections further afield will also be pursued, and Karis is particularly excited to work alongside Lauren, whose extensive reputation in haulage insurance is something she is keen to learn from.
Lauren, in turn, is full of praise: “Karis is a real find. She’s bursting with enthusiasm and determination. Her background means she’s great with people and problem-solving, both of which are essential skills in this industry. Insurance is about trust and relationships, and Karis is a natural.”
And relationships, it seems, are at the heart of Karis’s approach. For her, business development is not just about securing the right policy for a client but being a dependable point of contact when challenges arise—an ethos that has underpinned C&C’s growth over the past 50 years.
Away from work, family and her lively Sprocker Spaniel keep her busy. And when we spoke, she had just spent the weekend bottle-feeding orphaned lambs—an unexpected yet endearing skill rarely found on a CV!
With her boundless energy and commitment to building strong client relationships, Karis Fraser joining marks an exciting new chapter for C&C Scotland. The future is in very capable hands!
