Manchester Thunder, Storm Into A 7th Grand Final!

C&C sponsored, Manchester Thunder are through to yet another Netball Super League Grand Final after overcoming reigning champions London Pulse 60-56 in a thrilling major semi-final showdown.

In front of a passionate crowd at the Manchester Velodrome, Thunder produced a performance packed with resilience, determination and no shortage of drama to secure their place on netball’s biggest stage once again. The victory means Karen Greig’s side will now compete in their seventh Grand Final appearance and continue their pursuit of a record-equalling, fifth Netball Super League title.

The fixture was covered by Sky Sports, as has every Super League match this season – a real testament to the growing army of fans the sport is attracting (and great coverage for us, too!)

The match itself was everything a major semi-final should be. London Pulse, last season’s champions, pushed Thunder all the way, but the Manchester side held their nerve when it mattered most, edging a fiercely contested encounter by four points to book their place in the final.

For everyone at C&C, it has been fantastic to watch Thunder’s journey throughout the season. As proud sponsors of the team dress, we have had a front-row seat to the commitment, professionalism and team spirit that have become hallmarks of this remarkable club.

In a rematch of last year’s Grand Final, London Pulse then went on to fight it out with Loughborough Lightning to earn their place in the Grand Final alongside Thunder. Clearly Pulse are worthy opponents, but they will be facing one of the most successful and determined teams in Super League history when they meet Thunder at the Co-op Arena this weekend (Saturday 20^th June.)

Malc says: “We’ve been a part of the Manchester Thunder story since 2016 and it’s been an incredible 10 years – not least being five-times Grand Finalists during that time! And as brilliant as that is, success in elite sport is never achieved overnight. It’s built on hard work, preparation, trust and a relentless desire to improve. So, from everyone at C&C, congratulations to Karen, the players, the coaches and all the support staff on another outstanding achievement. But also, for your continual commitment to maintaining and raising the standards you set for Thunder. It’s simply outstanding!”

C’mon Thunder. One more game. One more rumble!
