Freight Minds Think Alike: C&C Supports The London Freight Club!

For C&C, relationships are the cornerstone of our business, so it was a real pleasure for our MD, Malcolm Cooke, Hiek Sarkissian and Andrew Middleton to attend the May gathering of the London Freight Club in the heart of London.

Held at the New Connaught Rooms, the event brought together leaders and professionals from across the freight, shipping, haulage and logistics sectors for an afternoon packed with networking, industry conversation and plenty of laughs, courtesy of guest speaker, football legend Peter Shilton. C&C were proud to support the event as a Speaker Sponsor and delighted to meet so many members of the London Freight Club.

The LFC is a respected and long-standing networking organisation within the transport and freight community, creating an environment where relationships are formed, knowledge is shared, and the sector can come together socially as well as professionally.

For C&C, it felt like a very natural fit.

Transport, Haulage and Logistics cover has been at the heart of our business for more than 50 years. From independent hauliers and specialist operators through to large logistics businesses with complex fleets and international exposures, C&C has developed deep sector knowledge and long-standing client relationships across the industry.

The event was full of the warmth and humour that the London Freight Club is known for. As England’s most capped player, Peter Shilton’s stories from football, dressing rooms and life after the game had the room entertained throughout, while also delivering some more thoughtful reflections around resilience, teamwork and overcoming challenges. Especially if those challenges are 5ft 5 inch Argentinians!

Malc says: “The London Freight Club gatherings have a fantastic atmosphere because they bring together people who genuinely understand the industry and value relationships. The transport and logistics sector has been hugely important to C&C for over 50 years, and with our Mayfair office being nearby, supporting this event was a great opportunity. It was a brilliant afternoon, expertly organised, and Peter Shilton was both entertaining and incredibly honest in his story telling. The Hand of God is now the stuff of legend, and it was fabulous hearing about it firsthand… please excuse the pun!”

As C&C continues to strengthen its presence within the THL sector, events like this are a great reminder that whilst insurance, risk and employee benefits are fundamentally important, this industry is still very much built on people, partnerships and trust.
