On Tuesday 5th March, Lancashire County Cricket Club launched all four new kits for the 2024 season. The launch was made via video released on social media and features many former players, including Warren Hegg, Sue Fawcett, Anne Monaghan and Kyle Hogg.
Notable for this season is that Lightening & Thunder are sharing a shirt and that all four have a ‘Red Rose’ theme.
The Lancashire Cricket Red Rose is “More Than a Rose” – it symbolises resilience, passion, diversity, and community. The ‘Red Rose’ goes beyond just being an emblem; it represents the rich tapestry of stories, talents, and shared experiences that make up the Lancashire Cricket family.
As an Official Partner and sponsor of their LV Insurance County Championship shirt, we were obviously keen to see how the new kit looked. All four kits look fantastic and we can’t wait to see the Championship side wearing them when the season starts next month.
Our association with Lancs started in 2012 with a long-standing hospitality agreement and was renewed for three more years, in 2022. We’re also headline sponsors of the Lancashire Cricket Foundation’s Education Without Boundaries programme, which is an all-year-round educational experience for primary school children in the inspirational setting of Emirates Old Trafford, the home of Lancashire Cricket.
Malcolm Cooke, MD of C&C Insurance Brokers says: “This is another really great shirt – contemporary but with a lovely nod to the club’s heritage. You can see that coming through in the launch video, too. And from our point of view, the branding is superb – crisp, clean and highly visible. We’re all really looking forward to the first ball of the season!”
The C&C logo features on the back of the shirt, across the shoulders and as Malc says, will be highly visible.
As a long-standing and well-respected sponsor, Malc also joined the men’s and ladies’ teams on their recent pre-season tour to Dubai. The whole party flew on Emirates and stayed at a Conrad hotel, nicely tying in two other sponsors. The weather was perfect for a sponsors’ golf day on the Friday but on Saturday, Dubai experienced some of its worst storms for years. With a 4 am Sunday start, the grounds team did a phenomenal job to have the pitch playable for later that day, where both the women’s and men’s Lancs teams beat UAE in very close run games.
Whilst Malc returned, the tour continued to India, to give the players further opportunity of warm weather training, and to experience all the benefits of performing in the challenging Indian environment.
The men’s first team go into bat on the 5th April for their first game and Thunder on the 20th.
