There’s no seasonality to insurance reviews. But it has felt like a particularly busy time at C&C recently, given that so many clients are extending the repertoire of their protection, to include, for example, Credit, Cyber and Group Medical Insurance. So, why are clients so happy to include us in their insurance review?
No doubt, existing and completely new clients will have a different mix of reasons, but here are 11 of the most compelling reasons for any client to include us in their next insurance review:
Referrals: New clients almost always come to us through a referral from someone they trust. Whilst this could never be the deciding factor in placing insurance with a broker, having confidence in a respected opinion encourages potential clients looking to compare service and price.
Client Retention: It speaks volumes that our client retention levels are over 97%, smashing the widely accepted figure of 80-85% for the industry average.
Reputation: Clients are impressed and encouraged by our reputation within the industry. Having recently celebrated our 50th year, we’re one of the leading independent insurance brokers in the UK, underlined by our regular recognition at annual awards ceremonies.
Tailored Protection: We don’t rely on off-the-shelf solutions. Clients value our one-stop-shop approach in being able to craft tailored cover and provide additional protection such as Trade Credit and Cyber Insurance, Personal Lines and an easy introduction to Healthcare insurance.
Best Value: Both new and existing clients value our attitude to sourcing insurer premiums. We don’t just rely on a renewal quotation. Being independent, we’re free to go to the market to seek the best-value solution for the client.
Service Levels: Clients quickly come to appreciate the extraordinary lengths our teams go to. We always put the client at the centre of what we do, whether it’s site visits due to a claim or our teams simply making themselves accessible out of hours.
Dedicated Contact: We have a very low turnover of staff and work hard to understand the challenges of each unique client. This high staff retention means that clients benefit from retained knowledge and insight. Over 40% of our team have been with us for 5 years or more.
Sick Days: Understanding a client’s business is one thing. Being available is another! Our staff sickness days run at an average of 3.8 days a year – less than half the 2023 national average of 7.8 days! This staggering figure is a huge reflection of the positivity of the C&C team.
Risk Management: By assessing exposures, management information and applying experience, we can help lower clients’ potential risk profiles and costs. We can either work with a client’s in-house team or act as their Health & Safety provision.
Claims Dept: Our in-house Claims team is highly valued by clients and brings great peace of mind at a time when things can be at their most stressful, particularly over multiple, simultaneous claims. We help to manage the process, which allows clients to sleep easy and focus on what they do best – run their businesses.
Knowledge Sharing: Because of the long-standing relationships we have with so many clients, an unintended positive consequence is that many openly encourage sharing their sector knowledge with us. This benefits other clients throughout similar sectors when it comes to problem-solving and sharing advice.
The long and the short of it is that we’re NOT a call centre. With many mergers and acquisitions resulting in more automated systems, chatbots and claims portals, we’re still very much focused on getting the best outcome for our clients. We never forget that our staff and clients are, firstly, human beings and that regardless of the size of the client, everyone is treated with the same level of respect.
So, although we originally asked why clients and referred enquiries are happy to include us in their insurance review, given these 11 benefits, perhaps a better question would be, (especially for new clients): Why would you NOT include us?
All data correct as of June 2025.
