There’s yet another birthday celebration in the C&C family, with our Bristol office powering past the one-year milestone! As always, it’s gone by so quickly, what with setting up systems and processes, researching, arranging development meetings and managing new clients. With so much going on, it’s all too easy to overlook the achievements of setting up a new enterprise from scratch.
But we’re not letting that happen with the C&C Bristol crew! We recently caught up with Mark, Trudy and Jamie to reflect on their first year.
Looking back on your first 12 months, what are your highlights?
I think all of us here in Bristol would agree that the single biggest highlight has been the achievement of setting up a new venture from scratch. The whole process of building new relationships and achieving our goals, passing them even, has been exhilarating! We’re now approaching a GWP of £1M! Our clients, both old and new, have shown us endless support and loyalty over the years, and it’s been humbling to see that continue over the last year. This is a massive testament to the whole team for their commitment to providing outstanding and appreciated client service over the years.
What were your biggest challenges?
In truth, the biggest challenge has been working remotely. We all came from a busy office environment, with all its noise and bustle – it had a daily buzz. But our driven work ethic and endless enthusiasm have been key assets in overcoming this challenge. And we must have overcome it, because the last 12 months have gone in a flash!
What have you learned?
That’s a simple one – both Trudy and Mark claim that they’ve proven to themselves that even in your sixties, you’re still young enough to take on new challenges and succeed.
What has surprised you?
Maybe not so much surprised us, as reassured us, that we’ve had such endless support from colleagues and that we’ve only ever been on the end of friendliness throughout the C&C group of businesses. We work hard – everyone works hard – but people are also mindful of a work-life balance. It’s rewarding to have hard work and achievements noticed and appreciated.
What have you been reminded of?
Following on from the above, really, just how rewarding it is to work in a supportive community. It’s very refreshing. All of the previous white noise we felt around work now has colour to it.
What’s next for Team Bristol?
If the first year was about establishing a presence and laying the groundwork, this next year is about consolidation and growth. We’re looking to expand the team with like-minded people, extend our presence further into the south, and when the time (and cost!) is right, to establish a bricks and mortar office. Watch this space!
Huge congratulations to Mark, Trudy and Jamie on a stellar first 12 months and best of luck with your onward journey into year two and beyond!
