Life Science High Flyers Celebrated At The Bionow Awards

Rob Black and Alex Jones recently attended the 2024 Bionow Awards dinner celebrating those who demonstrated outstanding ingenuity and dedication within the Life Science industry last year. The evening was held at the Concorde Conference Centre and saw almost 350 people dine beneath the iconic wings and fuselage of the spectacular flagship aircraft.

Rob and Alex were joined by Liz Fletcher and Callum Thompson from Chubb and were delighted to be able to support two of our own clients, who we’re thrilled to say, won!

Reacta Healthcare won the Bionow Business Growth Award, having doubled its turnover in 2024 compared to each of the previous two years. Employee numbers have also grown 60% in the last two years to 64. We have provided life science insurance for Reacta almost since day one, in 2014, when their employee numbers stretched to just four!

Sam Whitehouse, CEO of LightOx, also won the Bionow Outstanding Contribution Award, which honours an exceptional individual for making a remarkable impact in the sector throughout their career. Again, we have been providing insurance cover for LightOx since 2017 and have been astounded by the headway they have made in the oral cancer field.

It really is gratifying to see these two long-standing clients be recognised by their industry. We work with R&D start-ups through to commercialisation and beyond. And although only a small part, being part of their journeys and seeing the real-world differences they make to people’s lives is incredibly rewarding.

Rob Black, Development Director at C&C, says: “It was a real pleasure to attend the Bionow Awards and a privilege to be able to support two of our fantastically performing clients. It’s such a competitive and challenging marketplace, full of clinical and developmental obstacles, that to be recognised in this way is quite an accolade. Well done to all the nominees, congratulations to all the winners and huge thanks to the organisers and Bionow for putting on such a supersonic event!”
