Congratulations to Manchester Thunder for getting to the weekend’s inaugural netball Super Cup semi-final! They went unbeaten throughout the day until being pipped by London Pulse 16-17 in the final seconds of the game at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.
The team can hold their heads up, though. It was a fast, creative tournament over four matches, showcasing the quality of play and excitement we can look forward to when Thunder’s season starts on March 16th! (And Pulse went on to win the final!) That opening game really will be one to watch as Thunder take on perennial rivals and current champions, Loughborough Lightning, at the Manchester AO Arena.
Sky Sports covered the netball Super Cup tournament and it was great to see the C&C brand on the players’ kit reaching viewers from around the world. Sky also recently increased their coverage to 75% of all Superleague fixtures, with the BBC taking the other 25% through iPlayer. This means our logo will be visible for every match, in addition to the big screen and perimeter advertising for all home matches.
This kind of exposure can only lead to an ever-growing fanbase and further coverage for both Thunder and C&C.
