We’re delighted to unveil the latest signing for the C&C team as Lynsey Paris joined us as an Account Executive at the beginning of January.
Lynsey will be working out of our Dumfries office and joins us from Marsh. Before that, she spent over 13 years at Circle Golf – a bespoke broker specialising in the provision of insurance and risk management services to the UK golf industry. All too often the word ‘expert’ or ‘specialist’ gets banded around but in Lynsey’s case, it probably doesn’t go far enough! If we were to tell you that she’s known in the insurance world as ‘The Golf Lady’, you’ll begin to get the idea.
Lynsey also has a long-standing, close working relationship with the Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE), which she’ll continue to develop.
Whilst a significant element of Lynsey’s experience is golf-related, her speciality lies in her much broader understanding of the club membership insurance world, in general. So, whether it’s golf, tennis, sailing, rowing, rugby, leisure & fitness, bowls, boxing, city and private members dining clubs, if we’re talking club membership – Lynsey is your woman!
Golf clubs in particular though, do attract very unusual and specific aspects of cover that can be a challenge for many providers. Golf courses are so huge, that even the size of the footprint can cause issues with obtaining affordable and appropriate cover. And that’s before you even get into injuries (whether public or employee), damage to adjacent property, defective workmanship (eg green maintenance), or compulsory course alterations due to nearby residential construction. Thankfully, Lynsey has seen it all and understands the unique risks attached to golf clubs, to ensure all appropriate covers are included when arranging policies for her clients.
So, what was it that attracted Lynsey to C&C?
“In truth, I hadn’t heard of C&C, but I knew that I wanted to move away from the rigidity of the corporate world. Being with a national broker wasn’t a natural fit for me. I wanted the dynamism, the speed of decision-making, the feeling that you’re genuinely contributing and building something, that comes from working with a truly independent broker. And when I looked into it, C&C ticked every single box! I’ve only been here a few weeks but it feels like I’ve been here months – but in a really good way!”
Lynsey has already shared her A-game with us, by securing her first win and signing up a well-known Scottish golf course.

It would have been remiss not to have asked my final question: Does the Golf Lady play golf?
“No!”, says Lynsey. “I’ve tried – I’ve really tried! I’ve had lessons but it’s so difficult and as everyone knows, you need to invest a huge amount of time to even progress beyond ‘hacker’ level. I think my clients would prefer me to focus on their clubs, rather than swinging my own!”
