The Mall wasn’t the only scene of partying and celebrations on Sunday evening, as thousands of fans saw C&C sponsored Manchester Thunder crowned Champions of the Vitality Netball Superleague, at the Copper Box Arena, in the Olympic Park. The final saw the northwest side beat reigning Champions, Loughborough Lightning 60-53 in a tense culmination of an incredible season for the club, having gone through all 22 matches, undefeated.
This is Manchester Thunder’s fourth Superleague title, having previously been crowned Champions in 2012, 2014 and 2019, with some of the 2019 squad appearing in the 2022 final.
C&C have supported Manchester Thunder as a sponsor and insurance provider, since 2016 and was thrilled to see the team take the title with such consistent performances over the whole season.
Debbie Hallas, MD of Manchester Thunder, recognises the importance of consistency, on and off the pitch:
“Key to our success are the relationships with our sponsors. C&C Insurance has supported Manchester Thunder for the last six years – you will have seen their logo on the front of our dresses across that time and they are now synonymous with us.
A relationship with a sponsor is not purely about the financial support but also a prospering and supportive partnership. C&C provide our insurance across the board and as industry experts, they take away the headache of finding the right policy or the lowest quote and we can concentrate on what we do best.”
Malcolm Cooke, MD of C&C Insurance Brokers says:
“We’re absolutely delighted for Debbie and the whole Manchester Thunder team both on and off the court. Winning all 22 matches is a phenomenal achievement and is testament to the vision and all the hard work, dedication and planning that goes into competing at the highest club level. But it’s not just about the results with Thunder, they entertain too, which is why attendances have gone through the roof and there’s been such a high take-up in hospitality this season. We’re proud to put our name to a team that sets such a high bar and is receiving the recognition it deserves from fans and the sporting world at large.”
